Hey, I’m Max West — an Action Sports Photographer & Cinematographer based in Gilroy, California.

Action sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by mountain bikes, motocross tracks, surf breaks, and snowy mountains—and that energy has shaped everything I do. These sports aren’t just hobbies to me; they’re a lifestyle, a community, and the place where I feel most at home.

Over the years, that passion naturally evolved into photography and filmmaking. My goal is simple:
to capture the emotion, the speed, the atmosphere, and the beauty of action sports in a way that makes people feel like they’re right there in the moment.

Because I’ve lived these sports my whole life, I know what makes them look real and what makes them look good—from the details athletes care about, to the angles that bring out the intensity and style of every moment. Whether it’s chasing riders down a trail, shooting from the water, or freezing time on a snowy cliff, I’m happiest with a camera in my hands and nature all around me.

I love what I do, and I’m dedicated to contributing to the action sports world for the rest of my life.
